<p>I would not use the Bifen or Orthene for these blackflies. I&#039;d go with the <a  href="http://www.control-insect.com/insect-control/blackfly-control#565">PT-565</a> for treating the air spaces if they are flying around and all over. If you feel the blackflys are mostly on the plant itself &#8211; even in the soil &#8211; go with the <a  href="http://www.control-insect.com/insect-control/blackfly-control#veg">Vegetables Plus Permethrin</a>. It&#039;s safe to use on edible food crops and will work on most any insect.</p>
